After spending half a day at Ate Mayang's place, we left for Sipaway Island. We thought that we won't be able to visit the island since it started to rain in the afternoon. But after 30 minutes or so, the rain stopped pouring.
When we were still in Manila, my boyfriend searched for different islands to visit during our vacation in San Carlos. He's been to Ermita so definitely not that one. While looking for places to go to, he stumbled upon a blog that talked about Whispering Palms Beach Resort in Sipaway. The photos were stunningly beautiful and feedbacks from people who have visited the island were quite good.
The island is 30 minutes away from the city of San Carlos. We had to take a pedicab to reach the boat docking area. From there, we had to ride a banca which will take us to Dapdap. The banca ride costs 15php/person.
From Dapdap, we had to ride a tricycle to take us to the Whispering Palms Beach Resort. The tricycle ride costs 100php since it's very rare for them to pick up passengers on their way back to their parking area.
There's a lot of coconut trees surrounding the Island of Sipaway. I was also surprised that there are families staying in the island. Some houses were also made of concrete blocks and aesthetically designed.
After the pedicab, boat and tricycle ride for 30 minutes, we arrived safely in the magnificent Island of Sipaway.
When we arrived in the island, our minds were fixed that the price only ranges from 1,200-1,500php as discussed by one of the bloggers in the internet prior to visiting the place. However, one of the staff members advised us that rooms without air condition cost 1,500 per night. Only electric fan was provided. No meals included yet. For air- conditioned rooms, it cost 2,300php per night. No meals included yet as well. The only difference is the inclusion of aircon. We were kind of disappointed at first and explained to the lady who welcomed us about what we read in the internet. But the lady said that we might have read an old blog about the rates since they have raised their prices since October of last year.
By the way, they also don't allow guests to bring food. So it is mandatory for guests to order food from them.
We had our second thoughts because of what happened. Plus, it was low-tide when we arrived. However, since the only way out is to ride a tricycle, it would be difficult for us to hail one since their parking area is far from the island. Besides this, the island looked enticing and astounding so we just decided to stay.
We took a walk to the beach and was mesmerized by its magnificence.
Let me tour you to the resort. ;)
The room was neat and nice. It was not that big but I guess, it's okay for two persons.
I was in the middle of satisfying my eyes with the beauty of the place when I heard my boyfriend shouting, "I'm a cocoon! I'm a cocoon!"
This is what I saw when I approached him.
Presenting the newest Marvel superhero-- Green Paniki. HAHA
We just stayed in front of the room, seated in bermuda grass while staring at the beauty of the island.
Afterwards, we decided to take a walk to see the entire place.
We decided to climb up the tree house. I was anxious to climb up but my boyfriend convinced me that the view from above will be wonderful.
I had to create a collage for the pictures since there's a lot of them.
They also have their own Mini Zoo wherein you will find a Kakadu, an alligator, turtles and monkeys. The python may have been removed since we didn't see it when we visited the place, which actually is a good thing. :p
This is what you will see in their reception area.
The souvenirs are quite expensive. The prices of the t-shirt range from 350-750php depending on the size and design.
Let me show you the pool. Since it was low tide when we reached the island, we had no choice but to use the pool instead.
It looks like we had the pool all by ourselves since there were only 4 guests in the resort when we arrived. And they used the pool in the evening. By the way, they also use salt water in the pool. So it's kind of itchy and irritating to the eyes.
This is where you can order food and beverages at a very pricey amount as well.
In all fairness, despite the pricey amount of food, the food tastes good! So I salute their cook for the very delicious food. ;)
The food that we ordered for dinner was Pork Sinigang sa Gabi plus one order of rice in a coconut shell. The food is good for 2 persons.
They also have other amenities that guests can enjoy while on the island.
The next day, we woke up early to catch the sunrise.
After watching the sunrise, we decided to go biking outside the resort. The bikes are totally free of charge. They're part of their amenities.
They also have their mini gym.
Finally. Ben tried to swim in the water but it was full of rocks.
They serve breakfast at 7:00 in the morning.
For those 2 orders of breakfast, it cost us 550php. T.T Delicious enough though not to feel guilty about the amount spent. HAHA
After having our breakfast, we had to leave since we still have a lot of places to visit.
Too bad that our schedule was too tight. Nevertheless, we quite enjoyed our overnight stay in the island. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience, Sipaway! Whispering Palms Beach Resort is an excellent resort to visit. Thank you for your magnificence, Sipaway Island. This is worth coming back for. :)
