Continuation of Day 2: Center Mall.

FOOTBALL.

In San Carlos City, football seems to be their national sport. In every house that we passed by, there were football uniforms hanging on their clothesline. Children who were about 3-4 years old already know how to play football. My boyfriend said that he is quite thankful that he studied in the city of San Carlos when he was in elementary. Their practice usually started as early as 5:00 in the morning and ended at 7:00 in the morning just right before their classes started. In the afternoon, as they were dismissed from class, they had to practice again. He said that his talent and skills in football developed because of the intense training provided by football coaches in the province.

Kids playing football in Center Mall

In San Carlos, it seemed pretty normal and ordinary to see kids playing football rather than spending their time on virtual games provided by numerous gadgets nowadays. It was quite surprising for me to see how these kids kicked the ball strongly towards the goal and how goalies did their best to keep the opposing team from scoring. It is a privilege for me to witness how these kids work on their paths to becoming the next Younghusbands, Caligdongs and other best Philippine football players in the future.

I was also amazed on how vast their football field is, on how supportive their city government is towards this sport. Basketball is the national sport in the Philippines. Most kids nowadays prefer staying at home and playing in their Ipads and other gadgets. But seeing how eager and enthusiastic these kids are to be the next popular football players, may it be in their province, in Philippine team or Azkals, is just so astonishing. May they always maintain their passion for football as they grow up.

The very popular Tempura (AKA Kikiam)

Besides watching football games, my boyfriend also gave me a tour to Center Mall. At first, I really thought that it was a park. But as my boyfriend has always told me, their park is different from Center Mall which is designed primarily for football practices. :D

Just because. :)

The Boyfriend. :D

Mandatory shot sa Fountain :p

Dahil nung araw na yan ko lang din nalaman na hindi na pala dapat umupo sa loob nyan kapag malaki ka na. :D

Selfie with Bebe :D

Too bad that he was not able to play football during our stay in San Carlos. I know that he pretty much missed the feeling of playing in his hometown. But hopefully, the next time we visit, we can stay much longer so that he gets to play with his friends and previous teammates and opponents in elementary and high school. ;)

Ben and Toto (his cousin and a football player as well)

After spending the afternoon in Center Mall, we headed to my boyfriend's house which is currently in talks for selling.

The house is located in a subdivision in San Carlos. The house is nice. It has 3 bedrooms, a wide living room, a separate kitchen and dining area and a garage. Too bad that it has not been properly maintained for several years as much as it has been before since his immediate family decided to reside in Manila.

My boyfriend used to live here during his elementary days until 2nd year high school. He showed me their family albums where I took some of his photos during his younger years.

Boyscout :D

Exercise in the morning. :)

Pa-cute lang nya. :D

Ngayong malaki na sya. :P

I was very glad to visit the house he stayed at during his younger years because I got to get a glimpse of how wonderful and colorful his childhood days were based on his stories. :D
