Day 1: The much-awaited flight. :)

(Got the picture from Google. Credits to the owner.)

I have always wondered what it feels like to ride a plane, travel to a new place and watch the clouds move above a thousand feet or so from sea level.

Alapaap.

I have always dreamt of going to places I've never been to yet, ride a plane with someone I love, runaway from all the stress of work and the city and just be myself and enjoy during that escapade. I must be lucky and blessed to be able to make that dream come true by visiting the beautiful city of San Carlos in Negros Occidental. An added bonus is I got to travel to that place with my Bebe. It is also a good thing that San Carlos is his hometown so he knows a lot of places to visit during our 4-day vacation.

Selfie while waiting for our flight :D

I must admit that because of excitement of riding the plane and traveling in the Visayas for the first time, I took pictures of almost everything that highlighted our 4-day vacation in San Carlos. HAHA! I decided to document the experience by taking lots of pictures and blogging about the travel. :D

The Boarding Pass

(Of course, the mandatory shot. :D)

I asked my boyfriend how it feels like to ride a plane since he's been travelling to different provinces in the Philippines and Asian countries since he was little. He told me that he got used to it especially that he always rides the plane whenever he needs to travel back and forth from San Carlos to Manila during his younger years. He also told me not to worry since I used to travel in Baguio during my freshman years. But I still felt a little anxious about my first flight that even as funny as it seems, I even attempted to take Bonamine to fight possible dizziness. :p However, I wasn't able to buy one due to the tight schedule before the flight.

Our flight was scheduled June 19, 2014 at 02:40 PM in Cebu Pacific (Tiger Air). We were dropped off at Terminal 4 of NAIA's Departure Area. It was starting to rain when we arrived. I was a bit worried about the weather and scared that we might experience turbulence while we're on the plane. But thank God because we did not.

It was prohibited to take pictures while on the plane, as Flight Attendants advised. But I just can't help it.

69,000 feet above sea level

Simply amazing.

The wonders of our creator :)

While on the plane, I remembered how I always wanted to become a Flight Stewardess since I was a kid. Back then, I always thought how fabulous it was to travel to new places while working. But when I got to personally witness how they work, somehow, I realized that their work not only entails glam and fab but also the courage and patience to serve and treat the passengers very well. I have nothing against their job but I kind of got dismayed about what I have witnessed. I mean, they looked like robots that made gestures as they followed voice-over instructions about safety and precautions. They had to sell overpriced food and beverages to passengers while they pushed carts back and forth. I really thought that it was all glam and fab but I was wrong. I salute them anyway for their bravery and courage to look poised and pleasant as they work. And I think it is still amazing to travel to new places while working. And I think domestic and international flights are quite different..

I felt like I was a very excited kid amazed of all the wonders of our Creator seen from above. I even asked my boyfriend why the plane seemed to be so slow. All I got from my boyfriend is a teasing laughter because after I asked that question, the pilot said that we're 69,000 feet above sea level and was already in Batangas in just 15 minutes. Imagine? In just 15 minutes after leaving Terminal 4 of NAIA. HAHA!

The trip felt like the usual trips whenever I go to Baguio back in my college days. But the only problem I have experienced is the excruciating pain in my ears as we approached Bacolod-Silay airport. I think it may be because of the air pressure above. So in order for me to entertain myself and forget the pain I was feeling, I had to eat candies every now and then as advised by my boyfirend. Hihee

Finally, after almost an hour trip, we safely reached Bacolod-Silay airport.

It felt like I was in Baguio as we travel to San Carlos City, almost 4 hours away from Bacolod. We had to ride a van for 30 minutes which dropped us off to Ceres bus terminal. That bus took us to the city of San Carlos. I fought so hard not to fall asleep during the trip so I can witness the mountains and their field filled with sugar canes. As they call it, Negros Occidental is the Sugarcane Capital of the Philippines. But as much as I'd like to stay awake the whole trip, drowsiness and exhaustion took over.

We arrived in San Carlos at around 9pm. We chose to ride the pedicab since it is much cheaper than riding a tricycle. Besides, le boyfriend also missed the feeling of riding a pedicab. :p

The fare ranges from 5-7php per person if you ride the pedicab. And 7-10php if you ride the tricycle. Their tricycle looked different than the usual tricycles we see in the busy streets of Manila and Quezon City.
Besides the 2 seats inside the tricycle and one at the back of the driver, there are 2 additional seats at the back of the main seats.

Too bad that I wasn't able to take a close-up shot of the tricycle.

We stayed in Yoyong's Inn for only 600php/night with aircon and cable TV included wherein the boyfriend enjoyed watching FIFA 2014. :D (Endorser talaga ang peg? :p)

From here, let the journey begin. :)
